PAD New Email Subscription System
We have been waiting for this for a long time – PAD has launched a new email subscription system today in our website. You might find this YELLOW box on the right side bar in all pages. PAD is in partnership with FeedBurner, a free news feed management provider to build the email subscription system.
This is the biggest advantage of your time – you can get our news, announcements, and other events first through email instantly. The quarterly newsletters come in later. Another advantage is to save PAD’s financial for sending out the newsletter mailings (reducing the cost of papers, printing, and postage).
When you are paying for the 2008 membership, we will ask you if you wish to continue subscribing our newsletter by mail. If you chose to say NO, we will remove your name and mailing address in our database to stop sending the newsletter. Then you will need to join the electronic email subscription for PAD news and events through our website.
To follow the steps on how to subscribe PAD news/events from your email:
1. Look at the YELLOW box on top right sidebar.
2. Enter your email address in text box and hit ‘Subscribe’ button.
3. The pop-up window appears. Feedburner will request you to verify the message. Follow this step.
4. Feedburner will send your email for another final verification message. Check your email.
5. In that email message, click the web address to activate your email subscription.
If you didn’t follow those steps above, you will not get email subscription from PAD news and events.
Steelers Costume Winner / Photos
In the photo, John Noschese (left) was Steelers best costume in 2006, and he shares with 2007 winner of Steelers best costume, Dana Mingone (middle) and Tommy DeFazio (right) at our PAD clubhouse.

New England crushed Steelers last Sunday, December 9th, and we do believe that both teams will rematch in playoffs, we want to make this happen like what Steelers did with Indianapolis Colts in 2005!

Holiday Party 2007 Pictures
We had great time at Holiday Party 2007 in Washington, PA. The photos appeared in the PAD website a day after, and we know that we hasn’t made an announcement about this photo on website in a week yet! Because of, there are concerns on the pictures, over 200 of them, and we have to review make sure those photos are not appropriate, and fair for everybody in the picture.

Kids and Adults Halloween Party Pictures
We posted two new albums of Halloween party on Saturday the 30th at PAD clubhouse: Halloween Party for the Kids contains 144 pictures in late afternoon and Halloween Party for the Adults contains 73 pictures in night on same day. Enjoy!
Welcome to new PAD website
Welcome to fresh look of new Pittsburgh Association of the Deaf clubhouse site. This is the first of a kind to have an application tool for our PAD organization.
You will notice this site is powered by WordPress (see the footer far below in end of the page). WordPress is free web application publishing system to manage and publish the web site.
My goal is to have few PAD active members who are familiar with web terminology, to get a taste with WordPress, train and learn how to manage the pages in WordPress to make user-interface friendly and have members take their responsible to control the information in PAD web site instantly.
You might see some familiar information were taken from old web site. The newest and awesome tool feature in new web site is PAD album photos. All of those photos are stored in Flickr, popular web photo sharing site. Flickr and WordPress have powerful plug-in application which Flickr can feed the gallery photos directly into PAD web site, so the users can browse the photos inside PAD web site and find the larger than life-sized slideshow here!
Another new feature is Event Calendar (see on right side bar), allows to display the upcoming events in a dynamic calendar, click highlighted box of the calendar day to view the listings of individual event information in a page, exclusively on PAD web site.
