Hello Fellow Members & Friends,

This autumn I assume that everyone have been busy raking the last leaves up, pulling plants out and store the outdoor furniture up.

It’s hard to believe that in a short few weeks although we’ll be celebrating the holidays and New Year of 2014.

If anyone is looking for a hall rental to hold a funeral luncheon, baby shower, graduation party or other events up to 125 people, we could provide this club to them.  See the club manager for more information and catering is also available.

We will host active Christmas dinner on Saturday, December 14^th at 5 PM for cocktails and dinner at 6 PM.  Don’t forget to make dessert!

Please read on and attend the coming active meetings on November 15^th (Friday), December 13^th (Friday) as election night for 2014 nominations and January 11^th at 7:30 PM.  You are part of it at this club.

Hello Members & Friends,

– It’s hard to believe but here we are almost entering August.  In addition to all the activities, which are remaining hot days of summer are filled with festivals and fairs!!

– President ?  Who me?  Sure I can do that.  I can give back to our club that has given me so much.  I love our members and meetings.  Why??  Because of the members and the way we support each other as we learn and improve our verbal communication and leadership skills.

– We’re always looking for ways to improve our club for the betterment of our members.  Please feel free to discuss it with me or other board members; we will appreciate your input.

– I really want to thank all of you that volunteered to support the deaf biker’s event at PAD on June 17^th.  Whether we will our event or not doesn’t matter because our goal to product a fun event for our members were exceptionally successful thanks to all of you.

Birth News: Lori Ann LaSorsa-Abshier and Brian Abshier gave birth to a beautiful Baby Girl on Sunday, January 13^th 2013. Baby name Ashlee Marie Abshier 7 Lbs. 12 Oz.20 Inches long born at 1:37pm. Congratulations to both of them!!

Hello members & friends,

It is my pleasure and honor to serve as reelected club president for 2013.  I would also like to thank our outgoing PAD officers for their best efforts through the 2012 year.  They are great role models for our deaf club.  Also there are even some longtime members.  For more details on what our club has been doing this year, check out “President’s Corner” article at every three months.

Our resolution is to everything possible growing in a positive way, one of our goals is to get many members, non-members and young people involved out here as possible.  We would love having you to participate!!  It will be a good exercise for everyone, plus our members who are in the process of setting our goals while understanding how our goals affect the club’s goal.

It is a reminder to renew your 2013 membership dues to keep us with our club’s expenses and please see Alex Lemanski, our new financial secretary.

Please read on and the coming active meeting on February 9, March 9, and April 13 at 7:30 PM.  Let’s think about our club’s needs.

Hello Everyone,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank Val Wojton and his PAD 85^th anniversary banquet committees for doing a fantastic job at Turtle Creek.  It was a very successful dinner with 135 big hearted people.  Everyone I had chatted with was friendly, kind and genuinely respectful.

My top priority for next year continues to work with making sure that we provide support and give fund such as general foundation alike Heinz, Landmarks and others.  It purposes for ADA accessible guidelines to add side of a ramp with handrails and upstairs unisex toilet room.

We will host active Christmas dinner on Saturday, December 8^th at 5 PM for cocktails and dinner at 6 PM.

Please mark your calendar for the next active meeting on November 10, Friday for December 7 including election night for 2013 nominations and January 12 at 7:30 PM.

Hello Everyone,

We’re in the month of July and the month is known as dog days, because it is the hottest days of the year. People are encouraged to check on their neighbors, especially if they are elderly or do not have A/C.  Stay inside in air conditioning whenever possible. If you do not have an air conditioner, use movie theaters, malls, libraries and other public places that are cool. Even a few hours spent in air conditioning can help your body stay cooler when you go back into the heat.  Drink plenty of water & eat light meals to avoid hot foods and heavy meal which add heat to your body.  Provide plenty of fresh water for your pets, and leave the water in a shady area.  Be sure to think of your pets too. Never leave an animal in the car on hot days and be sure they have plenty of fresh water when outside. Avoid leaving your pet outside on hot, humid days. Bring your pet in when you can.

We, the PAD club want you to help us with volunteer and couldn’t have done it without you.  Volunteers are always welcomed to come and help us at PAD events.  We are happy to have you at the event with your great appreciated support.

By the way, you know that there will be PAD 85^th anniversary banquet on September 29^th in Turtle Creek.  Check out the flyer at PAD website to buy the tickets real soon due to deadline on September 8^th.  Also, Ken Davis is CEO/Founder of Deaf Newspaper, LLC and will be as media service for this event.  Hope that all of you will attend.

Hi fellow members and friends,

Hard to believe that I have been PAD President for a year already and now back for another year.  By the way I want to thank the 2011 PAD Officers for their best efforts.

But for all of us as members to get back is important with keeping up with PAD’s vision.  Part of my job is making sure of being responsible and ensuring help on members and friends with more positive.

As you know that we will have PAD 85^th anniversary banquet on September 29^th in Turtle Creek and it will be posed in the PADETTE.  Keep an eye on it.

The house committee is in the middle of making renovation to our basement stage and includes new electrical outlets, back drywall and floor.  The helpers are Jim Toner, Chris Noschese, Charles Fisher, Tony Conte, Jeff Janaszek, Robert Maher Jr. , Brad Scheidmantel and me.

It is a reminder to renew your 2012 membership dues to keep with our club’s expenses and please see Todd Langer.  Respectfully new members are always welcomed.
